Welcome to Dandy Kids ("we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and their parents. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Dandy Kids mobile application ("App").

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Parent account: Email address, full name, and password (encrypted)
• Child profiles: First name, age, grade level, and preferred language

Usage Data

• Worksheets generated and completed
• Submission photos (handwriting samples uploaded for analysis)
• Analysis results and scores
• Progress and gamification data (stars, coins, streaks)

Website Download-Link Statistics

When you visit our smart download page, we record the visit time, a broad device category, campaign tags (if supplied), the referring website's hostname (if available), and whether an App Store or Google Play redirect was requested. These statistics help us understand our download campaigns; they do not confirm an app installation. This feature does not use analytics cookies, store IP addresses or full browser identifiers in its statistics, or link visits to parent accounts or child profiles. Each page load receives a temporary, random reference so repeated store-button taps on that page are counted only once per store.

What We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Contact lists or address books
• Device identifiers for advertising
• Browsing history
• Any data from other apps

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide handwriting analysis and educational feedback
• Generate personalized worksheets
• Track learning progress for parents
• Manage gamification rewards (stars, coins, badges)
• Send password reset codes when requested
• Improve our AI analysis accuracy

4. Children's Privacy

We take children's privacy very seriously:

• Only parents can create accounts and manage child profiles
• Children cannot independently create accounts or share personal information
• We do not display advertisements to children
• We do not share children's data with third parties
• Handwriting photos are used only for analysis and are stored securely
• Parents have full control over their children's data and can request deletion at any time

5. Photo & Image Handling

When a child's handwriting is photographed and uploaded:

• Photos are transmitted securely using HTTPS encryption
• Photos are stored on our secure servers for analysis purposes
• Photos are associated with the child's profile for progress tracking
• Parents can request deletion of all photos at any time
• We do not use photos for any purpose other than handwriting analysis

6. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored on secure servers with encryption
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard BCrypt
• API communications are protected with JWT authentication
• We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store: For iOS app distribution and in-app purchases
• Google Play Store: For Android app distribution and in-app purchases
• AI Services: For handwriting analysis and worksheet generation (data is processed securely)

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

8. Subscriptions & Payments

• In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) depending on your device
• We do not collect or store payment card information
• Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings (iOS) or Google Play account (Android)

Optional Device & Usage Diagnostics

With a parent's permission, the app sends device type, manufacturer/model identifier, operating system, app version/build, language settings, and structured app actions and error codes to Dandy's servers. Random installation and session references help us understand failures and unfinished practice journeys. Signed-in sessions are linked to the parent account; this information is not anonymous.

Diagnostics excludes personal device names, advertising or hardware identifiers, names, email addresses, handwriting text, photos, passwords, and payment receipts. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.

Diagnostics is optional and off until a parent allows it. Parents can change their choice in Settings > Help improve Dandy. Turning it off stops collection and requests deletion of that installation's diagnostics when online. A minimal revocation record may remain to prevent delayed uploads from restoring deleted data. Detailed diagnostics is retained for up to 90 days; essential account, subscription, and service records have separate retention rules.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

• Account data is retained while the account is active
• Parents can request complete account and data deletion through our Account Deletion page or from Settings → Delete Account in the app
• Upon account deletion, all associated data including child profiles, worksheets, submissions, and analysis results will be permanently removed

10. Your Rights

As a parent, you have the right to:

• Access your and your child's data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Export your data

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
